1. Product classification and structural requirements
1.1 The fiber optic field connectors used for FTTx fiber optic networks are SC type and can be matched with standard SC adapters.
1.2 According to the end face form of the pin body, it can be divided into two types: PC (including UPC) and APC.
1.3 According to the installation site, fiber optic field connectors can be divided into the following two types:
Plug type: A movable connector plug that is directly assembled on the sheath of an optical fiber or cable by mechanical means. Socket type: A movable connector socket composed of a fiber optic field connector plug and an adapter. The fiber optic field connector plug and adapter can be a separate structure or an integrated structure.
1.4 Fiber optic on-site connectors should be pre embedded with single mode fibers, and the ends of the connectors should be pre polished in the factory without the need for grinding and bonding at the construction site. The ends of PC type field connectors should be factory polished to PC or UPC spherical surfaces, while the ends of APC type field connectors should be factory polished to APC inclined surfaces to ensure the end face quality and good reflection performance of the connectors.
1.5 The fiber optic connector should be suitable for terminating 250 micron pre coated fiber optic and can also be matched with 900 micron tightly sheathed fiber optic.
1.6 Fiber optic connectors should be suitable for use in sizes 2.0 × The 3.0mm butterfly shaped cable is directly assembled on the outer sheath of the optical cable.
1.7 The connector should be free from or require minimal use of special tools. If necessary, it can be equipped with crimping tools. During construction, only ordinary tools such as fiber strippers and fiber cutting knives need to be equipped, and there is no need to use other power consuming or structurally complex tools.
