Rex Dixon left the company pretty much for attempting to push for more franchise and gameplay fixes. Suits want to push the match in a different direction. Rex murdered the last great Madden Franchise (Madden 12) with the **** version we've now (Madden 13 to present). Was it especially him ? Granted I have only listened to his side of the story later years of blaming it specifically on him. If the buck does not stop with the creative manager, where does this stop at? Executives, directors, VPs, CEOs, high valued share holders, etc.. . Again this is coming from his view, but in this breakdown of a meeting w/ Rex, he cites why he left EA, and how he pushed to postpone the match for a year to build the game from the ground up to move away from legacy code. The previous director Ian Cummings also left for similar reasons, in the conclusion of the day EA is well-known for killing franchises, and spewing to the lowest denominator in regards to customer relations.
Can you state he was still responsible, sure. But I also believe there were individuals higher up that made madden the game it is today. Rex was still the one to gut M12's Franchise and replaced it with the lifeless version we have today. He was there for that I believe 6 years. He turned into a"martyr" for him being outspoken against EA at the conclusion. Where was he when he had been in charge of matters and gutted the old franchise? Of course he isn't likely to accept responsibility for his own participation, or lack thereof, to madden success. However, it generates a much superior finished product.
Pretty sure this response was to silence negativity quite a bit, at least until release, so they are able to continue to keep their M21 advertisement campaign going without much disturbance. And I believe they achieved their goal. When match release will be close, just mark my words, they gonna come out and say exactly this:" Sorry, staff worked hard, but we could not make any big changes so profound into development stage. However, this work will be put to use in M22, which will have overhauled and amazing franchise expreince". And of course M22 franchise will nonetheless be exact same as M13. It will be exact same thing they did with M20. Since release, when sport was completely unplayable for quite large group of PC players who had Core i5 processors (which has largest userbase). They kept telling commumity in their official stations that team is"working hard on the correct", right up before NFL season was over, to keep sales up and then just came out and stated that fix was not coming. They didn't even give any refunds to people that got screwed over like that.
Theory: Madden simply Sonic the Hedgehog'd us. Put an intentionally awful memo about what's new in business mode in order that they could return out within a month, say that they haven't had enough time to produce major improvements so these are the small ones that they made, and observe the community provide them praise for performing the very least.
