An antenna system has at least two sets of multiple antennas 12, 27 arranged side by side around a monopole 15. The pitch angle and/or azimuth of the main beam direction of the radiation pattern emitted by each antenna 10 can be adjusted remotely. The direction of the main beam of the radiation pattern emitted by the adjacent antenna 10 can be changed independently. These antennas can be divided into vertically spaced one or more groups 12 and 27, where each group of antennas is arranged around the circumference of the monopole 15.
