In this case, the plastic surgeon ordered an ABS jaw model as the surgical guide for his patients. He would place the patient's jaw at a sharper angle and shave down her mandible bone. To clearly illustrate how much jaw would be sharpened and how her face would be looked like, the jaw was 3D modeled from the scan of her lower face.
